Clubhouse Manager/Coordinator

Job Type: full time

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide operational leadership and counseling, therapeutic, crisis intervention, and supportive services to individuals, families, and groups. Provides psychosocial rehabilitation services to severe and persistent mentally ill clients.

 

ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for the supervision of work units through ongoing monitoring and problem solving and through provision of assistance to the work unit facilitators.
  2. Facilitates communication and teamwork between Turning Point and EOS.
  3. Coordinated the intake, screening and referral processes.
  4. Responsible for the initial orientation of clients to Turning Point and for the completion of the Initial Treatment Plan as well as coordination of all treatment meetings.
  5. Carries a caseload of up to 10 clients.
  6. Assists in the organization of work units.
  7. Responsible for the integration of work adjustment clients into the work units.
  8. Attends all clubhouse meetings and participates in social/recreational events rotating with other staff.
  9. Participates in in-service training, clinical supervision, case staffing, consultations, utilization review meetings, and other job-related meetings.
  10. Communicates with the public regarding mental health needs and services in the community.
  11. Supervises graduate/undergraduate students and/or volunteers as mutually agreed.
  12. Other duties may be assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION:

Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related mental health services field, Master’s Degree preferred.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Two to four years of progressively more responsible experience with a Clubhouse for Developmentally Disabled clients, based on the international model standards.

 

SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a valid State of Michigan Driver’s License and access to a vehicle to use for agency business. bachelor’s degree in a health or human services field and two years experience with the target population, or who is a licensed master’s social worker with one year experience with the target population and is licensed, certified, or registered by the State of Michigan or a national organization to provide health care services.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Manage, supervise, and leads the Paraprofessional and Van Driver by assigning work, planning work, establishing priorities, reviewing work, instructing and training, providing input to performance evaluations, supervising projects, disciplining, hiring and terminating.

 

POSITION DEMANDS:

  • Occasional requirements: Lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying up to 25 pounds and walking Irregularity of work hours because of evening rotation.
  • Frequent requirements: Sitting for long periods of time and working in confined areas. Attention to detail/concentration on figures, paperwork, data, etc. Pressures related to meeting deadlines, fulfilling scheduling requirements, etc. Simultaneous handling of multiple projects. Local travel and outside weather conditions. Exposure to clients who may carry contagious illness or cause bodily harm.
