Med Drop Driver

Job Type: part time

POSITION SUMMARY: The Med Drop Staff (MDS) are responsible for the community-based delivery of the medications and observing the client self-administer medication. MDS staff are able to use good judgment and follow procedures in addressing client concerns or issues.

ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Observe the client self-administering his/her medication as prescribed.
  2. Complete the appropriate documentation.
  3. Responsible for assessing any visible, or client-reported changes in mood behavior, or appearance; and reporting these changes back to the MDS Coordinator.
  4. Communicate to MDS Coordinator/Pharmacy Staff any client concerns regarding the medications.
  5. Able to follow the client’s Med Drop Services Treatment Goals as related to the client’s Individual Plan of Service.
  6. Apply good judgment in unusual situations.
  7. Safeguard and store the medications.
  8. Interact with the clients in a manner that is strength-based, recovery-oriented, and assists the client in attaining his/her treatment goals within an assisted, collaborative relationship.
  9. Participate in, and successfully complete all required training.
  10. Provide monthly updates on the client’s progress.
  11. Complete Annual Consents and Medication Adherence Questionnaire with clients, as needed.
  12. Demonstrate the ability to work independently and as a part of a coordinated team.

KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

WORK EXPERIENCE: At least 1 year of experience working with the population serving adults with serious mental illness or co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorder; children with serious emotional disturbance; individuals with a developmental disability; or medically fragile older adults, preferred.

SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: Must have a valid State of Michigan Driver’s License and access to a vehicle to use for agency business.
