Lincoln Park mental health center offers clients an educational lifeline
The Detroit Public Schools system failed her. Community Care Services did not.
After a mental breakdown, and after a couple years passed, 27-year-old Corrtney Jennings joined Community Care Services, a mental health treatment center in Lincoln Park, where she was diagnosed with schizophrenia. From memory loss to bouts of anxiety, attending school has been a Herculean feat, but with one class left to go, Jennings will soon have her diploma in hand, ready to set off for college.
