Programs

Drug Court

Drug/Sobriety Courts provide a highly effective alternative to incarceration for individuals whose involvement in the criminal justice system is rooted in serious addiction to drugs and alcohol. Community Care Services participates in all downriver community drug/sobriety courts. Eligible persons may be sent to this program in lieu of traditional justice system case processing.

  • Participants receive intensive treatment and other services required to get and stay clean and sober;
  • Participants are held accountable by the judge for meeting their obligations to the court, society, themselves and their families;
  • Participants are regularly and randomly tested for drug use;
  • Participants are required to appear in court frequently so that the judge may review their progress; and participants are rewarded for doing well or sanctioned when they do not live up to their obligations.
